Archmagus Corbin Alkestes
Corbin rose quickly through the ranks of Magi due to his family’s influence. The Alkestes have been a prominant family for centuries, and have had a member on the council for most of that time. Corbin graduated early and the head of his class at the Academy of Magic and went on to study on his own. It is said that much of his knowledge he gained from a trip he made to the surface world a year after his title of 6th circle Magi was attained. This is all rumor, but after a long absence Corbin returned to court life and quickly attained his 7th and 8th circle titles, and was eventually appointed as one of the 9, thus gaining his 9th circle. He succeeded Archmagus Lorien after his untimely demise at the hands of an assassain. Corbin was reluctant, but took the role and he lead the most prosperous time in Skyrelm’s recent memory. That is untill he began to dissapear. The rumors say he has taken to retreating to his tower in the capitol for weeks at a time. Appointments are missed and decisions are being made by Corbin’s assistant Valin Morkai. Valin insists Corbin is merely ‘busy’ with ‘larger’ issues, but refuses to explain further. The 8 seem to be just as in the dark. Corbin has never missed a conclave though, and seems to be genuinely concerned with the degradation of Skyrelm but does little to stop it.
